Ahmed Bassam

• I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Criminology - studied at Wartburg College, Waverly, IA.
• I am currently Pursuing a Master of Art Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

International Experience

I studied a two year diploma program in the Kingdom of Eswatini, Southern Africa. During that time I traveled to South Africa and Mozambique for sports. I have also traveled to Germany, Qatar, and Sri Lanka

Why I enjoy working with international students...

I have been an international student at different colleges/universities around the world. For a lot of students, when they do not have a support system when they travel internationally, they often does not grasp the real/fun experience of being an international student. They often push themselves into isolation. I want to be a support system to them when they attend UNI. I want to share my experience. I want to help them feel belonged in our community and normalize what they feel such as homesickness and isolation.
