International Experience

I’ve been part of the UNI community for over six years—first as a student, and now as a full-time employee. During my undergraduate years, I became involved with International Student Promoters, which sparked a deep interest in supporting international students and led me to a student employee position in the Office of International Engagement (OIE).

Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working with the OIE team, where I now serve as the Student Programming Coordinator. In this role, I’ve had the opportunity to lead international student orientations, welcome new students, create meaningful programs, and build lasting connections across cultures!

Additional Information

Why do you enjoy working with International Students?

Working with international students is incredibly rewarding because it allows me to be part of something larger than myself—supporting individuals as they navigate new environments, cultures, and challenges. I deeply enjoy creating spaces where students from around the world feel seen, valued, and supported, especially during such a transformative time in their lives.

International students bring a rich diversity of perspectives, experiences, and traditions to campus, and I learn just as much from them as they might from me. I’m inspired by their resilience, curiosity, and openness, and I find genuine joy in helping them feel connected, confident, and at home. Whether it’s through orientation, programming, or informal conversations, being able to walk alongside students during their journey at UNI is both a privilege and a passion.
