Getting a Social Security Number
Any international students who are employed are required to obtain a social security number (SSN)
To qualify for a SSN the student must
- Receive a job offer
- Schedule appointment with the Payroll Accountant in Business Operations - bring a copy of the job letter
- Wait for the Immigration & Advising Coordinator to contact you when your documents are ready to take to the social security office.
- Pick up your documents from the Office of International Engagement
- Take the following documents to social security office (3121 GreyHound Drive, Waterloo, Iowa 50701)
- I-94
- I-20
- Passport
- Visa
- Letter from employer
- Letter from Immigration & Advising Coordinator
- Culture & Intensive English Program
