Summer Immersion Program

The Summer Immersion Program is ideally for Cedar Valley residents who want to improve their English skills. It is offered only in the summer and meets for two (2) hours Monday-Friday. This is an eight (8) week program.

In this program:

• Students will read short stories, listen to lectures or talks and discuss/interpret meanings to enhance knowledge of the English language.
• Students will develop basic listening skills and produce simple everyday conversations.
• Students will also develop basic pronunciation, intonation and word stress patterns.
• Students will take part in small group discussions and give short presentations related to the content.
• Students will develop sentence writing skills and produce a series of simple sentences using newly learned vocabulary and grammar, appropriate spelling and basic mechanics.
• Participation in and completion of this program does not qualify students for admission to CIEP.
