English Language Experiences
The Office of International Engagement (OIE) provides a variety of learning opportunities for English as a Second Language (ESL) participants. Whether UNI students from another country, residents in the Cedar Valley or local employers, there are programs to enhance English skills and understanding of American culture.
Student Programs
Student programs are focused on building basic language skills while also providing a cultural learning experience.
Immersion Programs
The best way to learn and enhance language skills is through immersion. Read, write and talk only in English. When students force themselves to only speak English, the interactions become priceless learning experiences. They learn better phrasing, understanding and cultural norms.
