Meet us, Ngân, Đan, Linh and Quỳnh!

Students from Vietnam

Hello everyone! We are Thu Ngan (Brita)Linh Dan (Danni)Mai Linh (Lin) and Thao Quynh (Quinny). We are from Vietnam. We are currently studying at UNI. In Cedar Falls, Iowa, we experienced new emotions as we immersed ourselves in the learning and cultural environment here. When we first arrived in the United States, we felt extremely excited but also surprised. Everything was very different from what we were used to in Vietnam – from the way we communicated, the way we lived, to the small daily routines. However, it is these differences that give us a lot of opportunities to learn and develop. We clearly feel the freedom, openness and respect for cultural diversity in the learning environment here.

At first, there were times when we felt a little lost and difficult to connect with people, but over time, we gradually adapted and felt that we were becoming more mature every day. Studying abroad is not only an opportunity to learn knowledge, but also a journey of self-discovery and broadening horizons. Here, we had a lot of memorable and wonderful experiences. Every day that passes is an opportunity for us to meet amazing people, volunteers, host families, students and members of the Office of International Engagement who have helped us so much. These relationships not only help us grow but also create unforgettable memories. Thanks to them, we feel the warm humanity and cohesion in the community here. These experiences have really enriched our journey.
